What's New With EMS Contracts in 2020

Published
As I’ve previously mentioned, feedback is a key element to many of the things we do here. You’ve given us great ideas over the years, so I hope you keep that up. If you’re new or didn’t realize it, head over to the Ideas tab (after you read this!) and submit your concepts, thoughts, and feedback. If you’re not sure how to do that, fear not, I’ve got you covered. Check out this blog post for tips on how to make your voice heard.

Thanks to your suggestions, I’m happy to report that thanks to you, we’ve recently made a number of updates to Enrollment management contracts. Here’s what we’ve been doing these past couple of releases.

We’re Not Returning! (119 Votes)
Coming in with a whopping 119 votes in the Ideas area of this here Community, we’ve incorporated a new Not Returning block for all contract form types. What does this mean? Well, this gives families who are not coming back for the following year to indicate as such and submit the contract without having to pay the deposit or make any additional choices.

By default, this field is optional, but re-enrollment managers can switch this to Required if needed. Better yet, we’ve also added a new flag to the Process Center to help Not Returning contracts stand out from the others.

Financial Placeholders (94 votes)
If you look at the Decisions tab for Candidates, we’re added a Financial Aid placeholder that can be used. Specifically, this placeholder to display information to candidates when they've been accepted. This allows your families to see their award prior to the contract and without extra communication from the school.

What else?
I’m glad you asked! The Contract list now has several new filters to pick from to help refine your data. The current filer options from the Contract list now looks like: Community connections, Contract status, Candidate decision, School decision, Checklist name, and User to include.

In addition, we’ve finally taken Bulk Assign Contracts off the bridge! Podium is finally gone and replaced with a much more clean and friendly UI. Finally, we’ve made it so you can now assign tuition by grade, school program, boarding/day, or international. Enjoy!

That’s your quick two month recap of all things Contracts! Make sure to check out the release letter for more details of everything mentioned above.

Speaking of the release letter, we have some pretty big changes coming as soon as this week. I’ll be back next week to showcase and help guide you through all of them. Make sure to join me so you don’t get left behind!

Thanks for reading everyone!

How can I bulk assign contracts based on the current year type?

The Financial Aid placeholder is a big deal.  You would not believe the hoops of instructions we would jump through so parents can see what aid they have been awarded, BEFORE they had to view and submit a contract.  This is much better, but in an even better world, Financial Aid would be a check list item for the candidate view.  (just sayin...)
