Online Classrooms: Where do I start?

Published

Life, at least for the time being, is radically different than where we were just a month or two ago. As schools all over turn to remote learning, we're working to make your transition as smooth as possible. Our latest creation is a dedicated online help resource page.

As the world continues to face a very unique and evolving situation, schools and teachers are turning to online classrooms and remote learning. With lots of folks scrambling to set up online classrooms, we wanted to help out by suggesting what we consider a best approach for using each of the Education management products like Academics.

The good news is our software is robust and comes with a lot of features and integrations. The bad news is Blackbaud’s Education Management software is robust and comes with a lot of features and integrations – this can overwhelm users new to distant learning and online class creation. To help, we’ve created an all new online help section called “Getting Teachers Started with Online Classrooms.”

To help get you up and running as quickly as possible, this document focuses on the basics such as introducing teachers to the application as well as a few simple features they can quickly get in place to create a functioning and effective online learning experience. We plan to continue building on this topic often, eventually rolling out additional documentation covering more intermediate and advanced features and considerations educators may want to investigate once they have the classroom in place and are more comfortable with the online environment.

So make sure to bookmark this page as well as our other resources and materials related to working remotely with Blackbaud’s Education management products. We hope your safe and that these resources make life just a little bit easier. We’ll see you back here next time. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the idea Anita Li‍! I'm happy to announce that we've created a guide specifically for Parents during this unprecedented time. Like our other resources, this is something that will be constantly updated as more information is created.

Check it out right here: https://community.blackbaud.com/blogs/17/6624
Hey Anita Li‍! Thanks for the kind words! We've been focused on helping get teachers up and running as quickly as possible in setting up virtual classrooms, but I definitely understand the parents perspective as well. I'll make sure we add these to the list as well. Appreciate the suggestion!
Hi Jeremie Bourdon‍. Very sorry to hear about your site issues. If you're still having trouble, I'd strongly recommend getting support involved as they're better equipped to troubleshoot and correct an issue like this. In case you need here, here's how to reach out to them: https://www.blackbaud.com/training-support/support

The videos for teachers are excellent.  Do you have something comparable for parents who are new to this?
Maybe start by having a reliable system in place... Blackbaud is down right now!
