What’s New
We recently released several new features in Financial Edge NXT web view!
Business Rules for General Ledger
You can now manage General ledger business rules in Financial Edge NXT. General ledger business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements to suit your organization.
You can now set the following General ledger business rules in web view:
- General
- Fund
- Project
- Budget management
- Journal entry
- Transaction
- Chart organizer
- Grant
For more information, see Business Rules for General Ledger.
Aged Payables Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Aged Payables report in web view. This report lists an aging timeline for each invoice, amounts due to vendors, and a list of open invoices and credit memos associated with selected vendor.
TIP: This report is useful on a weekly or monthly basis to confirm timely payment of invoices.
For more information, see Aged Payables Report.
Project Budget vs. Actual Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Project Budget vs. Actual report in web view. The Project Budget vs. Actual report provides budget information and reports the actual activity of selected projects and accounts.
For more information, see Project Budget vs. Actual Report.
Disposal Gain/Loss Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Disposal Gain/Loss report in web view. This report lists all assets disposed of in a specified date range. You can use this report to verify disposal transactions posted accurately to General ledger.
For more information, see Disposal Gain/Loss Report.
Transaction Register Report. Under Reporting, you can now add and run the Transaction Register report in web view. This report lists a summary of Payables transactions during a specified date range.
Use this report to reconcile Payables transactions to the ledger and provide a detailed list of invoice transactions, credit memo transactions, and associated ledger distributions.
Permissions. You can now manage all user security from web view. We're releasing permissions updates in waves. Some of you already see these changes, and some will see these updates in an upcoming wave.
What’s Next
We are currently working on several features and enhancements for Financial Edge NXT web view. Here are some of the updates you will see in upcoming releases:
Budgets – You will soon be able to increase/decrease budgets in Financial Edge NXT web view!
Projected Depreciation Report – The Projected Depreciation report for Fixed Assets will soon be in webview.
Fixed Assets Business Rules — You will soon manage Fixed Assets business rules in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements.
Treasury — We’re introducing updates to Treasury's deposits and Miscellaneous (Misc.) Payments in Financial Edge NXT in the coming weeks. Misc. Payments replaces Cash Receipts in the database view, so you'll no longer have access to those records there. Bank accounts, credit card accounts, and Treasury reports are not impacted by these changes and customers with Accounts Receivable are not part of this release.
To learn more about the changes, view the tutorial. If you want to participate in the EAP, click here to complete the survey.
Bank Feed (Yodlee) — We are upgrading our Yodlee/Fastlink APIs in Financial Edge NXT to improve performance and offer better user experience. This upgrade also supports open banking.
Attachments — For security purposes, we are updating how attachments are downloaded in database view and WebPurchasing.
We will now scan all attachments with anti-virus scanning to improve your security experience. Attachments will be accessed via a shortcut link (URL extension) that will open to a Financial Edge NXT landing page, allowing you to access and download the file.
Payables Business Rules — You will soon manage Payables business rules in web view. Business rules help you customize standard procedures and requirements. We're releasing these updates in waves.
Permissions — Manage all user security from web view. We're releasing these updates in waves. Some of you already see these changes, and some will see these updates in an upcoming wave.
Receivables – Receivables will be offered as a read-only Preview. We'll monitor your feedback and make improvements as we prepare for general availability.
