First time to attend a bbcon! Excited but wary since it looks like there's a lot of things going on..

HI,

Can you advise me if I need to register right now even if it is still in October 6-8, 2020. What are the things I need to do after registering, what to bring and so forth. Is there a block out hotel rooms that I can register too?

Hoping to have great and beneficial time at bbcon!

Thanks to those who will take time to respond.

Just be sure to register while early bird registration is still being offered.  I don't believe they have announced the hotels yet.

Here is a link to the FAQ page.

  • The earlier to register the better as the price goes up.

I registered in January and got a great price.

I have not seen the hotel list as of yet. I am waiting for that as well.

BBCON is very busy but you can do as much as you want or as little as you want. You will see more and more info as things get moving along.
  • How will I know about the blocked hotel room for participants? Do I need to register for University Pass sessions?

Thanks again for those who replied to my questions.

Keep checking the Blackbaud website for the hotel information. You do need to register for University Day sessions.  The session information will also be posted on the website.

  • Yes. Register now for better pricing.

Last year was my first bbcon and it was amazing!

I recommend downloading the app when it comes out and combing through all of the sessions. It lists every session and location - very helpful. I also recommend having an initial plan of sessions to attend and then having at least one backup for each slot because some of the sessions fill up. You don't have to register for the non University day sessions but some of them are very popular and fill the room.

They will update with more info like sessions, the app, hotels, etc as the year goes on. Just keep checking back at the site. https://www.bbconference.com/2020/home

  • Hello,

A few tips as a former Blackbaudian, now customer.
    • Blackbaud University sessions have an extra cost associated with them. If you're interested in Raiser's Edge certification it's a great time to do. If you already have a Learn subscription, then this is an in-person version of that.
    • Session grids appear in approx. September. Be sure to map out which sessions you'd like to attend. Also map out backup sessions just in case a session is full or turns out to not be applicable.
    • Spend some time in the expo hall if you don't have a session to attend. You'll get more 1:1 time with vendors/sponsors if you're looking for something specific. Remember there are product experts in the marketplace.
    Enjoy!

    Cheers,

    Chris
