are you dressed for success?

You're working from home.  Are you getting dress for work each day? Jeans/sweats and a T-shirt? Or pajamas?

For the Zoom or online meeting are you only "top" dressing for camera?

Pajamas are so tempting.

  • My company works from home normally, so we don't have a dress code, per se. I don't wear the same clothes I'd wear in an office, but for client video chat and staff meetings, I try to dress it up a little with a work shirt and jeans.

I've got a some plain shirts and trousers that I wear only at the office, kind of like a uniform, so that I can dress on autopilot before driving to work - all of those have gone away in the attic with the winter clothes! I've been wearing my regular not-at-work clothes while I'm working from home - I've been saving my daytime pyjamas for my day off ?

We don't wear shoes indoors in our house, but I've still been putting on socks before work rather than just bare feet and slippers (not that anyone would know but me!). I think it helps my brain be ready for working, rather than watching food on TV.
  • I'm in full comfort mode and I try and avoid video chat if at all possible!

I've purchased new leggings. Does that count? We're a pretty small group and at least two of us are out pre-screening patients on any given day so we've never had a staff zoom or anything.

Well, if the adage "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" is true, my career path is not looking good! Workout pants and tank tops all the way here - and I have a cardigan on standby beside my desk for video meetings. We each filmed short "thank you" videos to send to our volunteers the other day so I wore mascara - and in our video meeting an hour or so later, everyone commented on how dressed up I was. So, our standards have dropped. :)

Oh I am definitely just "top dressing". I do change out of the pajamas I slept in, but only to put on more comfy pants!
