How do you record deferring a gift to another fiscal year?

We had to cancel a fundraising event back in March due to COVID-19. One of our sponsors wants to defer her donation to our virtual fundraiser we are hosting in October. These fundraisers are in 2 different fiscal years. What is the best way to record this in Raiser's Edge so it can match in Financial Edge?

    I would talk to your finance office. Assuming gift is already in FE and was posted and your FY might be closed already, they will need to have input. It may be as simple as a manual accounting adjustment on the financial side. 


    Tracking in RE to have it pull with monies for October could be trickier unless finance says to adjust FY20 payment to $0 and enter a new gift for FY21. May just have to pull financials for the two events into one report.  I've been thinking about this as well. We had a Dublin Dash scheduled for March that was supposedly postponed until September so we have registrations and sponsorships from FY20.  Haven't gotten into nitty-gritty yet as student group has not rescheduled. Will be watching for anyone else's ideas.
