I love how the Community keeps me on my toes. When I read other people's questions or suggestions, it makes me dig into areas of our database that maybe I haven't touched for awhile, and it keeps me abreast of ongoing changes and policy dynamics. I can learn from the polish of my peers instead of re-inventing the wheel. It's a great social outlet when I've been staring at numbers all day. And, it's a fun, "on-demand" source of professional development that you can take in bite-sized chunks instead of the sometimes unweildy commitment of a full-out webinar.

As they say, it takes a village sometimes, and the community is just that. Putting our heads together to solve an issue, or working with Blackbaud to create a needed answer has been a real team effort. It's great to know that there are others you can go to for tips!

I used to have a lot of time on my hands and could spend a lot of it on community - learning, making connections.


My favorite memory is the last BBCON I went to - in person - and that a bunch of us from Community got together for dinner the night before the conference started. It was SO cool to meet some of these folks in person.
