Data Systems Manager

Marin Primary and Middle Schools (www.mpms.org) seeks an experienced Data Systems Manager to manage data, primarily within the Blackbaud suite of systems, which is being introduced in advance of the 2021-2022 school year.

Start Date: June 1, 2021, or earlier

Responsibilities Include:

  • Initialize, oversee, and manage data in MP&MS’s Blackbaud CORE and associated modules.

  • Complete the transfer and integration of data into Blackbaud CORE from current systems such as InResonance and Jupiter.

  • Coordinate and manage efficient data flow and constituent integration across MP&MS’s Blackbaud data platforms (SIS, LMS, Raiser’s Edge, EMS, and TMS)

  • Manage the LMS in the school’s three academic divisions (Preschool, Primary, and Middle)

  • Assist Admissions, Development, and Business Offices in enrollment, tuition, and fundraising data workflow and integration support.

  • Coordinate with the Office of Communications and Marketing in integrating Blackbaud data with the school’s Finalsite website.

  • Manage mail lists, emergency contact systems, and photographs inside or outside of the Blackbaud system

  • Coordinate and execute regular synchronization and accuracy of data between multiple applications via import and export or custom scripts.

  • Create and run reports and lists from various modules

  • Perform data audits to ensure data integrity and security

  • Provide clerical and event support to the development and admissions offices

  • Act as primary liaison to Blackbaud support services

  • Participate in K-12 online Blackbaud community and annual conferences

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field; advanced degree preferred

  • At least three years full-time experience administering, reporting, and querying databases (Blackbaud CORE strongly preferred)

  • A demonstrated understanding of and experience with student information systems and the associated interdependencies with other educational systems.

  • Advanced technical training and experience in the administration of the Blackbaud application with a strong focus on K-12 Core, Raiser’s Edge, EMS, TMS, SIS and LMS, including scheduling and report cards highly preferred.

  • Strong detail-oriented management skills overseeing multiple projects and day-to-day support

  • Application of the best practices with database design and maintenance.

  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, and communicate improvements in process and flows

  • Robust troubleshooting skills

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and non-verbal) to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, parents, and students.

  • Desire to contribute to an engaging and inclusive learning environment and workplace.

  • Uphold confidentiality with regard to school records and other sensitive data information.

  • Ability to be flexible, effectively manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing work priorities and assignments
