It's Vacation Time!!!!

Where is everyone going, what is everyone doing? Who is checking off items on their bucket lists??? ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️
I'll start…we are flying to Barcelona July 29th for an 7 day cruise in the Med that actually was FREE because Virgin cancelled our original Bahamas cruise in 2020 so many times that we got the Bahamas cruise AND the Med cruise for the price of one!
Here's the bucket list part… after we get back to Barcelona we fly to Paris for two weeks! PARIS! I know a lot of folks have been but not me! Let's hear your plans, or past bucket list trips!!!

@Patti Hommes - This summer I've been to Vermont and Nebraska. In the future, I want to travel to see the aurora borealis (aka Northern Lights).

@Patti Hommes my family rented a villa in Roatan, Honduras for a week next month! In September, I rented an air bnb for a MONTH in Paris! Would love it if you recommended your favorite places while you are there. ❤️

We just got back from our weeklong vacation in Chincoteague, VA. My next outing is in September to Arizona to help my niece move to her new apartment, my first time there.

Not really going away this summer but the London E-prix is this weekend and I am staying in London near the track for the night before the 1st race (do I live 20 minutes from London anyway? yes lol, I just don't want to wake up to travel to the other side of it so early).

I don't know where I would go for a dream trip - perhaps Antarctica? That's one where the logistics and the journey boggle my mind

@Patti Hommes me, my husband and our youngest went to Annapolis the end of June to watch our nephew be inducted into the USNA. We have helped our oldest daughter work a music festival for her college lacrosse team's fundraising and this coming weekend we finally get a weekend to ourselves. We'll be heading to the Red River Gorge, KY area (no water sports this weekend for us) just to relax.

I have a trip to New England states planned for October, which will also go up into eastern Canada. This will be my first time out of the US in 5 years! Much too long. The Canadian part will be brand new for me. I've been to many provinces already, but never to the Maritimes yet.

The Northern Lights are also on my list, but there are so many amazing places to see around the world! I'm having trouble “getting around to it.”

No vacation for me. I just started a new job so it will be a while before I have time accrued. I did go to Spain in May, to Ibiza and Granada. LOVED it there. So, just little weekend trips for me until I get some time banked.

@Patti Hommes no extravagant vacations planned, but I have been using the time off I have earned and have been doing 10-12 day trips that I can drive to and not be exhausted. The last trip took us to NY with stops in Port Clinton, OH and Notre Dame. So cool!! The next trip is two weeks from tomorrow and that will be to northern Wisconsin and to the UP (upper peninsula of Michigan).

Home to Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton to visit my family. Two of the most magical places on Earth! I currently live in Alberta, and I haven't been back since 2017 as it's usually a crazy expensive flight. One week left til beach time!

@Karen Tuecke northern WI and the UP are GORGEOUS! We have some friends who have a cabin in the North Woods on Turtle-Flambeau Flowage; we love when we can get up there. Once on our way home to Cincinnati we drove through the UP and stopped at Pictured Rocks - wish we could have really spent some time there. Enjoy!

I'm heading to Camp Calumet on Lake Ossipee in Freedom, NH for a week in August. I'll get to sleep in the tent in which I was a counselor over 30 years ago. We'll eat in the dining hall, have campfires, and s'mores, of course!

@Patti Hommes I will have to live vicariously through you - sounds like a fantastic holiday!! My last bucket list trip was 2006 when I went to Australia for 2 weeks. Besides that I've done an Alaska cruise, several trips to Victoria, BC but these days life does not have that flexibility that it once did. Enjoy your time in Europe!!

@Crystal Bruce we just got back late Friday (Aug.19th) I will jot down some ideas for you. We only had 10 days in Paris and it was not nearly long enough! We did 4 days in Loire Valley before Paris seeing all of the Chateaux and that was well worth it (Amboise and Tours) and ended in the Champagne Valley (Reims) after Paris, also worth it!
