Dana Hall School seeks candidates for the position of Prospect Researcher and Gift Coordinator. The individual in this position will be accountable for:

• Researching high net worth donor prospects and gathering information regarding their philanthropic interests, giving capacity, connections, background, etc.
• Working with the Database Manager, entering this information in appropriate fields in the Raiser’s Edge database
• Preparing biographical profiles and research reports for use by staff and key volunteers involved in major gift work
• Identifying potential sources of corporate and foundation support to match campaign initiatives
• Searching for new prospects by scanning online and printing resources for successful organizations and individuals who may have interests that align with Dana Hall’s strategic priorities
• Ensuring information on donors and prospects is up-to-date, accurate, and properly documented
• Maintaining, updating and facilitating a moves management system that drives cultivation and solicitation strategies for donors and prospect
• Establishing and maintaining a process for allocation of new prospects
• Entering all pledges and gifts into the database in a timely manner and delivering gift deposits, gift log and other necessary reports to the Business Office
• Selecting appropriate acknowledgment letters to be printed and producing a gifts report to distribute to all staff members
• Working closely with the Business Office and Database Manager to reconcile gifts and pledges entered into the system.
• Entering and tracking event registration for certain events throughout the year
• Closing the Dana Fund and preparing funds and acknowledgement letters in Raiser’s Edge for upcoming fiscal year
• Completing other duties as assigned

The Prospect Researcher and Gift Coordinator is responsible for conducting online and print research in order to identify and qualify prospects (individuals, corporations, foundations) with the capacity to make major gifts. In addition, this position provides timely and accurate gift entry and gift acknowledgement.

Candidates must have: a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred; 3-5 year of related work experience; technical knowledge of data management systems and processes; experience with relevant Blackbaud solutions preferred, such as Raiser’s Edge/NXT and Online Express; knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.

Successful candidates will possess: excellent problem-solving, technology, and customer service skills; superior time-management skills with an ability to manage many tasks and projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality work products; excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and an ability to create effective action plans to meet goals; strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze and interpret business and financial data; effective communication skills, both orally and in writing; an ability to communicate complex issues, as well as to maintain open communication channels with relevant stakeholders.

This is a twelve-month, full-time position reporting to the Database Manager.
