Best FENXT Practices for matching restricted contribution revenue to restricted expense activity

I am looking for best practices for handled how to receive restricted contribution for a specific memorial item like a bench. We already have a revenue account number set up for restricted contributions, but how do others make sure to tag it to a specific purchase when ready to expense the purchase of the bench. Do others create a project record? Do you create a budget scenario just for that “project” so you can show a specific report income activity statement matching that specific restricted donation with the expense activity using those funds?

We current require project records be assigned as a part of our business rules.
