Assistant Director, Digital Engagement (Hybrid) - Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston MA
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Assistant Director of Digital Engagement, will implement, traffic, and track digital communications to support the Development Office at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Under the direction of the Director, Digital Engagement, the Assistant Director of Digital Engagement will produce and launch digital assets to engage donors and supporters across various interactive channels to communicate the hospital's story and encourage philanthropy through digital channels.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Director of Digital Engagement will:
- Lead all aspects of digital work through production, quality assurance, and timely final delivery
- Handle the Digital Engagement team's request queue for digital assets, including donation forms, event registrations, web pages, emails, social media, video, photo galleries, text messaging, polling, surveys, etc.
- Review inbound requests against design and editorial standards, surfacing outliers before production begins
- Partner with project managers, writers, designers, and information services specialists to deliver high-quality digital assets aligned with industry standards
- Produce project management schedules to ensure the delivery of digital communication materials
- Track schedules, anticipate bottlenecks, and renegotiate timelines as needed
- Maintain operations of the broadcast email program, establishing workflow and scheduling
- Maintain a digital communications calendar (i.e., email, web, and social) for the BDO
- Lead content creation and quarterly updates for multiple WordPress sites
- Understand all industry and internal benchmarks and work with fundraisers on ways to set, meet and exceed them
- Learn and understand how to use data to make strategic decisions, set goals, and help transform the BDO into a data-driven organization
- Other duties as assigned by the Director, Digital Engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with four to six years of experience in coordinating, managing, and implementing digital communications projects
- Nonprofit or agency experience is strongly preferred
- WordPress and Marketo (or equivalent marketing automation platform) experience required
- Knowledge of HTML and responsive email and web design to advise project planning
- Project management platform experience preferred (Workfront or equivalent)
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven track record working in a fast paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Outstanding interpersonal proficiencies as well as a team-oriented spirit, flexibility, good humor, and the ability to put the best interests of the hospital and its fundraising mission at the top of the list of workplace priorities
- Familiarity with broadcast email programs, web tools, and assets
- Ability to grasp audience and stakeholder needs and manage the development of digital products and services to support those needs
- Confidence in managing multiple projects and communicating regularly with stakeholders and supervisors to prioritize and meet target dates.
- Extensive knowledge of oral and written English and an ability to converse and write using accurate grammar, sentence structure, and word definition
- Passion for a top-flight, nonprofit teaching hospital whose missions include patient care, research, medical education, and community service
