Job Summary
We seek a Grants Officer to lead in coordinating, documenting, and managing all our grant-making programs from the point of application to the end of the grant. As a key contact for grantee partners, the Grants Officer will be deeply committed to upholding the Fund’s values, goals, and mission. As an essential member of the Program Implementation Team (PIT), the Grants Officer is extremely organized, detail oriented, works collaboratively with and supports the program team’s regularly scheduled meetings and activities. The Grants Officer will work closely with the Program Implementation Team and Grantee Partners in the management of all technical and administrative aspects of our grant-making. Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent education and a minimum of 2 years of related grants management and support work experience in philanthropy
- Recent participation in racial equity/justice learning experience.
- Strong technical skills, including high degree of proficiency with Blackbaud Sky, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and related administrative tools (e.g., Doodle, SurveyMonkey and Calendly) as well as video conferencing resources such as MS Teams and Zoom
- Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills given the need to draft grant summaries and reports, meeting minutes, and related task.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and manage multiple projects.
- Committed to meeting deadlines and completing tasks with accuracy and dependability.
- Able to anticipate information needed by others as situations and projects develop.
- Ability to read and understand organizational and project budgets, or willingness to learn to support due diligence efforts for the grants process.
- Adept at developing collaborative and positive relationships with colleagues, grantees, grantee prospects, and other partners as needed.
- Interacts with others in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
- Maintains a positive attitude and willingness to participate in team projects actively.
- Experience and willingness to work with a diverse constituency as well as familiarity with issues of race and poverty in communities of color preferred.
- Integrity, discretion, flexibility, and sense of humor.
- Understanding of and commitment to the Memorial Fund’s Vision, Mission, and Program goals.
Compensation
We offer an excellent benefits package and a salary commensurate with related work experience. The position is in Hamden. It is full-time and nonexempt.
