"Things Your Data Manager Wishes You Knew" discussion post

Hello bbcon community! Thanks to everyone who attended the in-person or virtual “Things Your Data Manager Wishes You Knew” session presented by @Maya Rosman and myself!

Our in-person session included a great deal of audience participation that isn't possible on the virtual recording. Personally, I learned valuable tips from the in-person audience, and I know that several attendees were planning to view the recorded version and/or share the slide deck with their teams.

The purpose of this post is to continue the discussion! Here are the specific topics we invited the audience to speak/think about:

  • What is your role? Please tell us your role and the roles of anyone on your team who watched with you.
  • Keeping your data manager in the loop: Examples of when your team was/wasn't successful.
  • Data driven culture examples within your organization.
  • Any other thoughts or questions?

Please feel free discuss any of the above in the comments. We also welcome constructive feedback about our session, as there wasn't a session survey option in-person this year. Thank you for participating!

  • Thank you for getting the discussion going, @Sunshine Reinken Watson! Speaking for myself, it was really lovely to get a chance to talk to so many of you at bbcon this year and am excited that we were able to be included in the virtual offerings as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone shares here.
