Connecting Award Management with NXT

I am trying to connect our Award Management with NXT. I have everything connected, funds are also set up. How do you link the donors in NXT to the donors in Award Management? I would like to have the recipient show up in the donors account in NXT. I've also heard that donor reports can also be done through award management. I've been using NXT for many years but I'm not familiar with the setup for award management. I'd love to be able to find some sort of step by step instructions on it. Does anyone have a critical path on how to set up an award?

When I started my position, they were already using Award Management and I don't think they are using it to the fullest potential.
