Point of Sale (POS)

Does anyone have a Point of Sale (POS) system that integrates fully with Blackbaud? We would be using this for selling items in our cafeteria and in our bookstore among other ideas. As far as I can tell, Blackbaud does no have a POS of its own, but I've reached out to my Account Exec for confirmation. I can see some school lunch options in the Blackbaud Marketplace, but they look more geared for hot lunch pre-ordering and other features rather than simply POS, but I hope to explore those third-party websites some more. Clearly, there are some sophisticated stand alone third-party POS systems where data could be transferred back and forth via .CSV files, but I would prefer something more seamlessly integrated with Blackbaud Merchant Services or Smart Tuition or Financial Edge along with student data from SIS. @Geoffrey Goodfellow I would recommending contacting Customer Support to learn more about the Buy Now Give Now feature within Tuition Management. There is a description here as well.

TM has 3 options for additional charges:

• Extended Care
  • Incorporated alongside tuition, charges appear on existing accounts
  • Charges - standard and late rates, set by min/hour/day
  • Groups - optional, creates groups of students
  • Sessions - single day or recurring events, combines charges and groups
  • Not sure what the parent interface is like, or if there's one
• Shopping Cart
  • Allows active families to pick and choose specific items that are then applied to their account as fees
  • 3 payment options:
    • Pay Now: This allows the parent to enter a payment method and pay right away
    • Phone Payment: This allows parents to purchase the item by calling the parent line at 888-868-8828 and making a payment over the phone
    • Mail-in Payment: This adds the item to their account and allows the parents to view the invoice and make a payment with their next billing cycle
• Buy Now/Give Now
  • Independent of TM - can't add charges to a family's account
  • No TM login needed
  • Buy Now is one-time purchases
  • Give Now allows one-time and recurring purchases
  • Not sure how this works, but "once an item group is created … system will auto-generate a link that can be embedded into an email"
