Entering a partial gift

I can't remember the process on how to enter a gift where the donor only receives a portion for credit. For example, we recently held a golf tournament, and the entry fee was $1500.00 but the credit (tax write-off) portion is $940.00. Would also want this to reflect on their giving statement at the end of the year where it shows the purchase amount and the tax credit amount.

How would I enter something like this?

    @Jolynn Uyehara Every organization is different, but there are several ways of doing this. You can use benefits to remove the non-deductible portion, or just alter the receipt amount.

    @Jolynn Uyehara Yes, you would enter the $940 for the receipt amount. The benefits button basically does the same thing, but it takes some configuration. Don't forget to make notes or add the reference to explain the benefits.
