Changes Coming For Blackbaud Luminate Online Logins

Password requirements are changing for Luminate Online Administrators.We’re strengthening password requirements for Blackbaud Luminate Online® administrative users to enhance protection of your account. These changes will be user-tested extensively and communicated to you as they roll out.

The changes to the login experience will be:

• Administrative passwords will be more complex

• All administrators will be required to reset their passwords every 90 days
• We will prevent the reuse of passwords (the last 6) and disallow common/easily guessable words (like your email or username) as a password.

With the 21.1.1 release in February, we introduce new password complexity requirements. New admin passwords rules include:

• Passwords may not include a User ID, organization name, or common dictionary words and phrases
• Passwords will expire at least every 90 days, with notifications starting at 14 days prior to expiration.

When will I have to reset my password?

After the 21.1.1 release, administrators will need to create a new password if their current password doesn’t meet the new requirements. Most organization administrators will need to reset their admin passwords every 90 days.

Why is this happening?

We continually review industry standards and best practices and make updates to ensure access to Luminate Online remains as secure as possible.

Can I revert this? I want shorter, easier passwords!

No, there’s no option to use less secure passwords. These changes are part of our continuing partnership with you to ensure the most secure online environment for your work.

Does this impact API Administrators?
No, there is no change to security requirements for API administrator credentials.
