Here are the latest changes, updates, and new features for the Education management products for October 25, 2022.

Core

Reporting, OneRoster, and Clever: State ID

Schools can now enter a State ID on each student’s Contact Card as part of the General information on their user profile in Core.
Use this new field for state reporting requirements, as well as for One Roster integrations such as Clever.
State ID is currently only visible to admins and only admins can edit it for each student.

We've added the location placeholder for reminder and confirmation notification templates in Event Registration.

Extracurricular

Athletics – Access team Overview and Team Details

A few weeks ago, we introduced Manage teams, where Athletic Group Managers can view teams in a list format, add teams, and update the coaches and players on a team. With this release, users can select a team from the list to access the team Overview and Team details.
Overview displays Team statistics, including the number of coaches and players, and the team’s win-loss record. Under Upcoming events, Athletic Group Managers can quickly see the next five events on the team’s schedule.
Team details displays general setup information configured under Sports & teams, such as the Level of Play, Gender, and team Status. Grading details also displays information from the setup in Sports & teams, including the Total credits, Transcript category, Print on report card, and Print on transcript settings for the team.
Additional updates to Athletics are on their way in the coming weeks.

Financial Aid management

Blackbaud ID login required for school users
As of October 25, school users must sign into Blackbaud Financial Aid Management (BBFAM) with Blackbaud ID (BBID).
This change does not affect parents signing into BBFAM.
After logging in with their username and password, school users must either Create a Blackbaud ID or Sign in with an existing Blackbaud ID.
  • Create a Blackbaud ID – Users without a BBID account select this option to create a BBID and link it to their BBFAM user.
  • Sign in with an existing Blackbaud ID – Users with an existing BBID account select this option to link their BBID to their current BBFAM user.
Once a user’s accounts are linked, they sign into BBFAM with their BBID going forward.

Tuition management

Automatic payment information on customer-facing emails

In order to remain compliant with MasterCard payment processing regulations, welcome emails and account update emails will now include additional information on how to stop automatic debit payments. Both emails will now inform users that they must either log into their account to make the change or contact Blackbaud Tuition Management at (888) 868-8828 at least 3 business days prior to a scheduled payment.
Both emails are sent automatically from customerservice@blackbaud.school and will not require any new steps to be taken by school users.

API and Integrations

Subscribe to “What’s New”

To receive email notifications when the What’s new update appears, make sure to subscribe to the K12 community’s blog by logging into the community site and selecting the Subscribe button.
To manage your community subscriptions:
  1. Log into the community and locate your name and profile picture in the upper right corner.
  2. Select the drop-down arrow and select My Account.
  3. From the My Account page, select the Subscriptions tab and scroll down to the Blogs section.
  4. Locate Blackbaud K-12 Education solutions Blog. If you want to be notified as soon as the What’s new content goes live on the community, select the Instant option. You can also opt for Daily and Weekly notifications.
  5. Scroll to the end of the page and select Save changes.
