Administrator Interface Visual Refresh Updates

You may have noticed that a few months ago, the Luminate Online administrative interface got a new and modern look. This project is part of a larger initiative to make the user experience more seamless and integrated across different Blackbaud products – driving consistency with a modern user interface across products is one small piece of this large undertaking. As we receive feedback on this visual refresh, we wanted to provide you with an update.  

 

While a lot of people were happy with the changes, a significant percentage said that readability was an issue. Deeper conversations with users revealed that while many people like the new look, they also encountered problems as they worked in the tool for longer periods of time.

 

We are always glad to hear from our users, and we have been responding rapidly to incorporate changes that we believe will make the Luminate Online administrator interface easier to read, including:

- Darkening the main font

- Increasing the contrast on the Primary Navigation bar and Tertiary tab

- Darkening the form field input boxes and text.

 

You should be seeing these and other updates rolling out in the next few releases. 

 

Be assured that no functionality is being impacted by these changes. All the work flows that you are currently accustomed to are the same for now.

 

And this is just the beginning - we also recognize the need for more comprehensive changes to the usability of the system. That’s a big part of our roadmap for 2015 and 2016, and we’ll need your continued feedback to help us make sure we get it right.
