5 Of 7 - EOY Series: Test And Schedule

Test, test again, and schedule your email sends!  If you weren't already aware--there are a handful of testing tools available for your use within LO. 


Did you know that you can preview the layout and message content of an email exactly as it would be viewed by the person or group that you're sending it to?  You can do this with Dynamic Email Preview or Email on Acid in LO.


Once done with preview checks, you can test email deliverability with the Send Review Email feature.  It is critical to run these tests well in advance of your desired send date in order to mitigate risk of delays/issues during EOY (or other large volume days).


                       



Everyone wants to send on the 31st—so get in line early. Schedule your send as far in advance as possible. Once it's scheduled, try not to cancel it!  Although Luminate lets you schedule a time that indicates when your message will be ready for delivery, that time is NOT necessarily when it will be delivered. That time indicates when Luminate servers will start processing your email in preparation for delivery.

While testing email variations is encouraged leading up to December 31st, it is NOT recommended for the day of the 31st itself. Since A/B testing requires extra processing time for each send, coupled with our recommendation that you schedule all your messages at least 24 hours in advance, we suggest you do any testing in the days leading up to December 31st and none on the 31st.


Strongly consider taking steps to enhance site performance during your year-end campaign send(s). Best Practice: Disable the "Rebuilding Groups" functionality for groups that aren't in use. Take a look a the KB below for more best practices on Group Rebuilds.
