How are you using the "Target" field?

On a constituent record there is a table you can use called "Target" which will populate in the Summary section of a record. I'm curious to know how people use this field as we've typically not made much use of it.

Between "Opportunities" and the "Prospect Management" section, it seems like a target $ amount in the summary of a record is a bit overkill, but I could be missing something obvious.

Do you think of it as target lifetime giving we hope to see? Expect to see? Maybe on an Annual giving scale?

Does anyone use it as a prospect target? "ie. the target is to convert this person to Monthly giving because they give many smaller gifts" or perhaps "the target is Planned Giving since we know their spouse had left a bequest"

I'm thinking someone might find value in that information being front and center in case the donor calls and you want to make sure to tell them about whatever target (monthly / planned, etc.) they are listed as?

On a slightly related note, we don't ever add to the Ethnicity / Religion fields but I can't find a way to stop them from appearing on the summary section with "None found" beside it. I don't even have values in the tables that they relate to, does anyone know how to hide or disable these unneeded fields in summary?

Unfortunately there is no way to 'hide' fields in WV yet.

As for target - use it or don't, in whatever way makes the most sense for you. If Opportunities and Prospect Management are fulfilling your tracking needs, it may be best to leave this as is - unused.
