Payment Dates in FE vs REPAY check dates for year end 1099s

When processing payments through payment assist, the payment date in FE is the date of the payment run, however the actual date on the check sent from REPAY is typically several days later. When it comes to year end 1099 processing, if there are payments processed at the end of December 2025, however the checks processed by REPAY aren't dated until January 2026, which years 1099 should that payment be included on?
