The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).
Pay Range: $27.05 - $39.30
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Position Overview
- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations for the Development function and for managing all information in the fundraising database to maintain updated records and assure accuracy of additions, changes and deletions. Provides requisite reports and oversees the prospect management system. Coordinates with staff to advance and support fundraising initiatives that further the mission of Capital Health. Serves as department liaison with IT and Finance to implement and maintain system integrity. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor’s degree. Experience: Three years of relevant experience in managing day-to-day operations, preferably in a non-profit setting. Four years fundraising database management experience. Other Credentials: Knowledge and Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proven ability to learn new systems and solid track record in training staff on computer systems. Special Training: Advanced proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; relational database management; analytical report writing/presentation and graphic software. Advanced proficiency with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge. Working knowledge of and experience with accounting procedures. Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge a plus. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Able to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines and use technology to gather, interpret, organize and present data. Able to work in a team environment. Must have integrity, discretion, and demonstrate mature judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages daily gift processing, including receipt of contributions to ensure accurate and timely recording, acknowledgement and filing.
- Accepts and records gifts in accordance with state and federal regulations, donor bill of rights and ensures that all gifts are allocated according to donor wishes.
- Records payroll deductions. Records and completes matching gift company applications.
- Serves as liaison with IS to maintain all technology, hardware and software in the Development Office. Manages installment of new technology and upgrades, evaluates office needs, researches market options, and recommends appropriate software.
- Liaises with Finance Office. Conducts or supervises all financial transactions ensuring accuracy in unrestricted, temporarily restricted and endowed fund accounts.
- Creates and produces template acknowledgement letters and gift receipts for direct mail, events and similar program initiatives. Generates pledge reminders. Assists in managing commemorative gifts acknowledgements and family or honoree notifications.
- Prepares mailing lists for publications, appeals, general mailings and events in collaboration with development staff. Ensures timely and accurate preparation of bulk mail if requested. Assists with mailings as needed.
- Trains CH staff from programs that receive funding on procedure for OVP and PO submissions. Maintains data for donor recognition programs (print listings, newsletters, donor walls, etc.)
- Documents and maintains policies and procedures relating to use of The Raiser's Edge database and related products such as Financial Edge and DonorSearch. Protects confidentiality and integrity of the data.
- Creates, updates and maintains accurate constituent records; monitors activity of staff who submit information (e.g., relationships, moves, wealth information, gift and pledge information, history).
- Produces appropriate codes to identify appeals and mailings, constituent types, fund accounts, events, special identifications and other information.
- Ensures accurate knowledge when recording and reporting complex gift types (i.e. calculating gift value of life insurance, appreciated securities, wills and trusts, property and other non-cash gifts, tax deductible amounts when good or services are exchanged, legal vs. soft gift credit).
- Creates wealth screening reports based on resources such as DonorSearch. Analyzes data, sends to front-line fundraisers and enters or downloads information to donor database. Prepares reports and profiles as requested. Trains and assists Development staff who utilize The Raiser's Edge or related resources like Wealth Engine.
- Knowledgeable about IRS requirements for receipting and substantiating all gift types. Performs monthly query checks, validates database, and runs duplicate constituent report check. Analyzes database to identify and implement solutions to existing problems, makes recommendations.
- Assists with special events and other activities as directed. Attends events as requested to provide support for registration or other assignment.
