Scholarship tracking in RE

How do you track your scholarship recipients in RE?  I saw a discussion but it was from a couple of years ago so I want to see what is the most current way of doing so.  Right now I am updating the info in the attributes tab.  Some have in the past put in the education/attributes.  However it is done I need to be able to track the info and know the dollar amount of the scholarship.  Can you please share how your organization does this?

    We create fund relationships between the recipient and the scholarship fund. There's not really a good place to put the amount on a fund relationship though, other than in the notes field but that could get messy for reporting.

    Great Question. We need to do this as well. If anyone knows of a way to track this, I would be interested too.

    Our system is set up a bit different, but this is our structure.  Each scholarship is assigned a Fund ID.  Within that fund we track relationships (Benefactors, Recipients and Contacts).  Each recipient is linked via a relationship to their scholarship, with starting and end dates.  We put the quarterly values in as an attribute.  You can see all gifts within the fund record, and an overall total.  (View/Gifts/All)  It's then easy to pull all recipients of a scholarship, past recipients or current recipients.

    Constituent code = Scholarship Recipient


    Attribute = Scholarship Received. I use a (gigantic) table of our scholarships for the description, the date field (first day of the quarter they received the scholarship), and occasionally the comments field for the scholarship amount but mostly we refer to the scholarship data outside RE if we really need this info.

    Hi Stacy,

     

    I think you were responding to my
    comment.  We are a smaller school with 170 scholarship/endowed
    funds and about 120 recipients so far.  Each fund was created
    manually, and the recipients are linked manually for right
    now.  Fund values are imported via an excel spreadsheet. 
    Our numbers are growing and I will be looking to see if it’s
    possible to import relationships, I haven’t tried that yet.
