Upgrade Quota Limit

I need a temporary quota limit increase to run my application. I contacted the Sky Developer Team and did not receive a response. My application files invoice attachments, so I need to access both the vendor and invoice list endpoints for each active vendor and their invoices. I need an upgrade to speed up this process because with the free tier quota limit, I can barely get through 1 /20 of the total records.

Thank you.

  • @Johnathan Huang your subscription should provide up to 25K api calls/day assuming your login is associated with a customer and there is not already an associated skyapi account which is allocated the 25K.

With that said, I sometimes have larger initial backloading of transactions when I create a new integration point. During those times I make sure I hit the 25K/day and it sometimes takes a few weeks to get all caught-up.

  • @Johnathan Huang Like Dennis said, the customer tier provides 25,000 calls a day, so that could be a good option if you're not on that currently. Blackbaud reduced the free tier's allowance to 1,000 a day for independent devs in 2025.

I don't know if you're independent or associated with a customer, but if independent, one still free solution is to ask a customer to set up a Blackbaud developer account themselves. Ask them to create an application and send you their subscription key, application client ID, and application client secret.

Blackbaud recommended this to me as a workaround that shifts the limits to the customer. I.e., they can only do this for a limited number of vendors before they themselves would reach tier limits, but it's a good short-term solution as many vendors are Blackbaud partners with higher limits, so customers may not often be asked to do this, meaning they may have some usage to spare.

    Hi Eric and Dennis,

I could not find an option to upgrade to the customer tier. I am associated with a Blackbaud customer, but when I go to my subscription page, there is no option to upgrade. I read on the SKY API page that the only way to upgrade is to contact the SKY developer team.

Hey @Johnathan Huang, I had your subscription upgraded to our Standard tier (25k) since you've been waiting on this for a while.

For anyone else who comes across this thread: Your access to Customer or Partner developer entitlements is determined by your Developer Team affiliation. This is described a bit under the Developer Account section of our Basic documentation.

If you're not associated with your organization's Developer Team today (which you can access through My teams), you'll need to have a team admin invite you. Here is our Developer Team documentation, including how to get invited to the team. I'll provide feedback from this thread back to my team to see if we can clarify this better.

Once your team affiliation is set, you can self-serve your subscription upgrade by visiting My subscriptions and claiming your upgrade.

  • @Johnathan Huang in that case, my next step would be to log a ticket with standard BB RE support. Also, I would check/confirm within your org that no-one else has an skyapi account which is already using the 25K/day. That actually happened to me once, there was another customer account which had the 25K/day which we had to remove first.
