Membership Forms and Gift Aid

Hi everyone,

I've been working to set up membership forms for our new membership programme, using Raiser's Edge Online Express. The forms are pretty clunky, although I hear they are looking to update these and migrate them onto NXT in the near future.

One thing I've noticed is there's no option to ask members if they are tax payers and eligible for Gift Aid, like is featured on NXT donation forms. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how did you work around it? We have thought about sending an email afterwards to ask if they are eligible for GA, but this doesn't seem very smooth and there is of course a chance people will not respond.

    Hi, though I'm not familiar with the Gift Aid options, I did a search in Knowledgebase and the AI generated response indicates there may be a similar process for membership forms that you used for RENXT donation forms:

    "To enable Gift Aid on membership forms, you would need to follow a similar process as with donation forms. Navigate to the Form tab of your membership form. From the Form Designer menu, select Gift Information from the Build submenu. Drag and drop the Gift Aid component onto the desired area of the membership form. The Edit Gift Aid window will appear, allowing you to configure the necessary fields, including the Declaration Channel and the Gift Aid information label. You can also provide additional information through a hyperlink if desired. Ensure that all required fields are completed to allow UK taxpayers to indicate their wish for their membership dues to be eligible for Gift Aid."

    Hopefully those steps make sense to you :)
