The Last Pennies
Hi friends,
I may be tilting at windmills, but I am in search of one of the last pennies minted in Philadelphia. I know they were minted last November, and scheduled to be "sent out" at the beginning of this year, but so far my search has come up empty-handed. My bank stopped dealing in pennies; I have no idea if this is industry-wide. They may have all been scooped up by private collectors and I'm just out of luck.

I admit that I am now paying for things in cash more often to hoard pennies for fun. It looks like the last minted pennies went straight to auction, and the last actual circulated pennies were minted in June.
"Beach said Wednesday that the final coins pressed will be auctioned off and that the actual last pennies put into circulation from the US Mint were struck in June."
