Returning the designation of a constituent's last hard OR soft credit gift?

Hello fellow Altru folks! I'm trying to configure a query template for our prospect managers, and would like to return the date, amount, and designation of a constituent's last gift. Date and amount can be easily sourced through the "Constituent recognition credit amounts" and "Constituent recognition credit dates" Smart Fields, but these Smart Fields are not capable of returning a revenue's designation.

I've followed the instructions in this Knowledge Base article, but this method only captures hard credit, and does not capture soft credit gifts. Confusingly, when configuring the parameters for the Smart Field as outlined in the linked article, I see this section:

Despite existing, these "Recognition credit types" options are grayed out and inaccessible. If I could simply click these check boxes my Smart Field and query would work, but I haven't been able to find any information on why these options are locked or how to fix this.

Any input is appreciated, whether on how to unlock the "Recognition credit types" options, or on how to get to the same end result with a different method. Thank you!
