How's Your Year Going?
Hi all,
How's it going? How's 2026 treating you? How're you getting on with your resolutions, if you had any?
Things are fine here. Exercise feels dialed in. Family time has been nice on the weekends. I've found a good balance in upskilling and reading for leisure. I've found an every-other-day approach to be good for me - learn Python tonight, read some Monte Cristo tomorrow, etc etc.
Hope everyone is doing well, thriving, and living their best. :-)

Did you watch the Masterpiece version of The Count of Monte Cristo? I haven't read the novel, (yet), but it's worth checking out. Even if the Monte Cristo you're referring to is something else entirely!

I've not watched that, but I am indeed referring to the Count! First time reading and about halfway through. Tremendous book.

2026 has kept me on my toes but seems to be allowing me more grace, to enjoy time with family/friends, to read in the evenings and work in my flower gardens. I'm approaching the 1 year and 18 month marks on my knee replacements and am enjoying being able to do so many things that I wasn't able to do before.

2026 has had it's ups and downs. I will skip the downs, but the ups are up-coming. We leave next week on a three-week vacay to Norway and the Arctic. I have told the cruise company that I want a refund if I don't see a Polar Bear? Who's been to the Arctic? Will I see a Polar Bear?

I'd suggest starting with silly walks since you said your exercise feels dialed in. ;P
My intention to ramp up physical activity in 2026 went out the window just before I closed it due to excessive humidity!

2026 has gone really fast for me! So hard to believe it is already half way over! I recently joined a book club which has been really great for me personally. We are going through a few health things with my son, but am hopeful some of it will be resolved before the end of 2026. Professionally, I am looking forward to finishing the rest of the FY strong!

I just marked 1-year cancer free! 🎉So 2026 is pretty good 😊 This was my second time around with breast cancer, and recovery has left me pretty fatigued - but I'm glad to be here and getting back to 'normal'.

It's been a very busy and expensive year so far! We had to re-pipe our house.. :(

My still new‑ish consulting business is doing REALLY well. What started as a “maybe I’ll just be a solo practitioner” idea is turning into something that feels like a real firm. I’ve added some amazing associate and senior consultants to the team, and I’m excited about deepening the bench so I can offer more specialized support to clients.
On the personal side, I’ve already had one fantastic week at “summer camp for adults,” ⛺️ and I have a family‑camp version coming up in August that I’m really looking forward to.
And last night I got to see Les Misérables in Boston — absolutely incredible.

So far 2026 has a lot more health-related goings on for family members than I had expected, but things are looking like they are on the up now!
