Wish we still had legacy auth today!

It wasn't caused by BBID itself, but rather by something BBID uses.

Update - We have identified an issue with a third-party vendor that is preventing a subset of our customers from being able to log into their solutions that leverage Blackbaud ID. We are staying in close contact with that vendor as they work to implement a permanent fix. We will continue to keep you updated on the status of this issue.

For example, I couldn't complete my regular CDC VSafe Covid-19 vaccine check-in yesterday during the outage, since the CDC seems to use the same thing and thus the CDC's VSafe system was impacted just like BBID was.


My spouse and I are expecting our first child, so I've been very diligent about completing those VSafe check-ins since I know how important it is for the CDC to get reliable data from people like me to help inform their safety procedures for future pregnant women and their kids. Since I've had rare health issues before, it's always been important to me to contribute to things that help the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health programs when feasible, so that medical science can continue to advance as quickly and safely as possible. To some people, those check-ins are just simple surveys, but to me, they're important because the mission behind them is important.


Other systems (not just BBID and the CDC) were also affected. Some Microsoft things went down, for example.


It was frustrating though.

This is why it's important to always have a backdoor admin login.

I am hoping to be able to have support add that account to our support list. Yesterday was a great example of why that is necessary.

Bryan Lorenzo‍, if you use Pick-a-time (and thus have the Pick-a-time Manager role), you can't have a BBID and import classes in. You have to use a legacy login to complete that step. The explanation I was given was that Pick-a-time and a few other 3rd party companies haven't migrated over yet.
