Tracking Email Opt-Outs

Does anyone have a best practices system in place for updating email opt-outs that occur both in Altru and through a secondary email marketing service (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)? We have the opt-out options set up for both ways of communicating. However, I am wondering if anyone goes the extra step of double-checking opt-outs on a regular basis to make sure that constituents are removed from email lists in both places. Thank you!

    When a constituent unsubscribes through Constant Contact, we keep their email address active but add a comment “unsubscribed through Constant Contact”. Then, when we run an appeal to pull a new email list from Altru, we exclude people whose primary email address comment contains “unsubscribed”.
