Update to Blackbaud Internet Solutions in Service Pack 24

Published
What has changed?
At the start of 2021 we will be retiring a legacy service that is no longer used by Blackbaud Internet Solutions as it has been superseded by Blackbaud Communication Services (BBCS) for Email handling since our Service Pack 9 release.

What does this mean?
As of Service Pack 24, due for release April 28th 2020,  we are removing any remaining references to this historic service in order that we can retire it completely.

This final housekeeping by Blackbaud impacts two areas within the product:

•             The ability to toggle an email address status as valid / invalid
•             Matchfinder Online functionality (see KB 191181)

Earlier versions of Blackbaud internet Solutions (prior to SP24) will continue to consume the legacy service, but after 31st January 2021, Blackbaud will be retiring the service and the two items above will no longer function.

What actions do I need to take?
If you are hosted by Blackbaud then there is no action needed! We’ll take care of it! If not, we strongly encourage you to upgrade to BBIS Service Pack 24 to ensure you are on a fully supported version.

Do you know where I can get more information on BBCS and specifically the depreciation of the ability to toggle email address status as valid/invalid? We use this feature a lot and are not sure how we will do this with SP24.

Which legacy service?
