The Buzz: Game Night Edition

Good Morning Community; wherever you may be!

It's been a busy week full of all sorts of stuff - Including the completion of the Women's World Cup!  And while there were 5 Blackbaud home countries represented in the tournament  (United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Australia), only one can reign supreme.  So congratulations to the United Staes Women's National Team on their victory.

And speaking of the States - scroll down to the bottom for our announcement on how YOU could win a free pass to this year's bbcon in Nashville, Tennessee!

No matter where you are in the world though, games become a part of our lives.  Wether that's sports games, board games, video games, or mind games - every one of us either plays them or knows someone who does. This past week when the weather turned rainy in our area, we had a housefull of kids and we played a LOT of board games.  There was only one grouchy moment when someone flipped the board and stormed out of the room (predictably during Monopoly).  So we considered it time well spent.  But what games do you like to play?  Are they actual, physical games?  Or maybe something you made up?  Let us know in the comments below.

So let's get rolling with this week's version of...

Ah, board games...card games...the fun stuff in life. In the past year, my family has become addicted to lots of fun games, ranging from card games like Smash Up (original and all expansions), Exploding Kittens (original and expansions), Gloom (original and expansions), Kittens in a Blender (original and expansions), and Nuts to board games like Flamme Rouge (original and expansions), Pandemic (original and Cthulu expansion), Tsuro, Takenoko, Stuffed Fables, and Wacky Races. I'm pretty certain I've forgotten a few, but we've turned into a gamer household and I've lost track of how many games we have in total.

My dad and I used to play a lot of Crazy Eights and Dominoes, especially when we were camping.

I just got Bards Dispense Profanity (a knock-off of Cards Against Humanity, where all of the answer cards are quotes from Shakespeare), and I am looking for just the right crew to play it with.

ok, I only need one more badge to become a Community Ninja - the Scout Badge.  I've sent out invitations to co-workers to join the community, but how will I know if they accept?  We need to recruit 5 new members, correct?

Actually, Debbie Hayes‍ - I have completely removed the Scout Badge requirement from the Ninja required badge list.

I love board/card games, but rarely have anyone to play them with. Sometimes we have family Uno games, but that's about it. I wish I had more people to play games with. Instead, I fly solo and do my NY Times crossword puzzles.

I used to like Trivial Pursuit but I haven't played it in a while.  I also like the murder mystery dinner party games where everyone plays a different character.

We don't play many board games but we are puzzle lovers! Nothing beats putting on some good music and tackling a 1,000 piece puzzle! I am trying to convince the family to do a 2,000 piece but they aren't ready for the commitment.

My husband and I play the "How many black puffy winter jackets can we see in inner Melbourne in winter" game.  I think our record is about 48

Growing up as an only child I cherish family board game nights. Big holiday's the whole family would have three different board or card games going so if you got tired of one you could move to the next group!
