NXT Gift Moves or Merge

Hey all, I have a gift that needs to go onto a different constituent record. I've heard that there's an easy way to do this on NXT, or at least easier than doing the delete or "all-or-nothing" merge process on RE. Anyone have experience on NXT merging gifts, or merging constituents not listed as dupes?

In NXT you can change the constituent assigned to a gift.


Open the GIFT record then


click on EDIT


Select CONSTITUENT then enter the constituent you want to credit. Then click OK.


You can only move gifts from Individual to Individual or Organization to Organization. You can move a gift from Individual to organization or vice versa.

I did just find out a couple of weeks ago that the batch number is NOT carried over when you follow this process.  I'm really disappointed!  I'll still use it, but I did think that would happen so that controls can be kept intact.

Karen, I still see the original batch number on the gift record once I've moved a gift to another constituent.  I'm not sure why that is not happening for you?

For what it's worth, I just tested my issue with the batch not sticking to the gift.  It worked in the example I just tested, but did not work when I did it live with a client.  Of course!


Will be contacting Blackbaud to see what's up and will post if I learn anything useful.

Does anyone know if moving gifts in this way affects anything on the back end if the gift has been posted? Also, does the respective Prospect information follow the specific gift to the new record? Is anyone aware of a knowledgebase article that details this process? I was unable to locate one.
