Course recommendations

Hi,
I wanted to send an email to our advisors relaying where they will see their advisees course recommendations.
After impersonating several advisors I discovered, if the advisor is not a parent at the school, they could not see their advisees' recommendations. 
I must be missing something somewhere in order to make it so all advisors, parent, or not , are able to see this information, however I cannot seem to find it.
Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

You might try setting the Approve column in Course Request Setup to Advisor. 


I am not sure if this will work, but, in theory, it should.


Academics > Scheduling > Requests and schedules > Course request setup


Hope that works.

Scott, 

I thought of
that, however I don't want the advisor to approve the
information.  

I feel there
is something else missing though, if my advisors which are
parents  (not even in US, but are LS parents) can see their
advisees recommendations, all advisors should be able to see
the same information, that is what is not making sense to me,
and I feel I'm missing something.

You piqued my interest, so I checked the tasks the Advisor role has available. The role has no task for Course Recommendations (teacher role) or Online signup (student & parent roles). Checking the Knowledgebase - it says advisors should be able to see advisees' requests (Can Advisors/Online Sign Up Manager add notes to course requests?)


I impersonated a few of our advisors and nothing is listed. That being said, I filed an issue with support on Tuesday that parents cannot see all of the their child's course requests either. I heard back that is a systemic issue that would be addressed in 30 to 60 days. I will let you guess what my response was to that being that we are in the thick of scheduling for next year.

Groups,
Advisory group, Advisees, click on view profile and course request
tab. 

The
course request tab is not connected to my advisors, which are not
parents.

Same thing here. I just impersonated an advisor who is a current parent and I can see the requests, but as an advisor who is not a current parent, I cannot. I check with a advisor who is a past parent. I would say the view is another victim of a Whipple Hill Wednesday.
