No grade level endpoint for OneRoster

Hi everyone,


We are running into issues setting up OneRoster with some third party applications and I'm wondering if anyone else is in a similar boat. A student's grade level is a required field for certain applications (like Renaissance), but we're finding the grade level endpoint isn't available. Our Renassiance rep says they get that field from other schools in the user object.

    It looks like an oversight on BB's part.  It is not a required field for OneRoster, but they really should put it in.


    I would request they put it in.

    Hi there! I have this on a list for consideration. The reason it's not a simple output mapping is that we don't enforce schools use specific grade level labeling that conforms to CEDS values which is the dictionary OneRoster uses for acceptable values in that endpoint. We need to I think add somewhere to the OneRoster setup for schools to configure the crosswalk between their school grade levels and CEDS standard values which is doable, just a matter of scheduling and prioritization. Hope to be able to get a OneRoster phase 2 version on the books soon, keep voting!

    You will need grade level in the future on Microsoft SDS imports to allow for analytics data delivery. It is an important field.

    Tasia Weatherly, we just got bit by this issue as well. Trying to import our data into a 3rd party system.  API won't authenticate with the credentials provided by BB, so I'm resorting to CSV upload.  The import fails every single time - because the grade level isn't in there.  I can adjust Grade levels to match CEDS - well worth the trouble saved by being able to integrate (even if only by CSV).  As we continue our integrations, I'm hopeful we don't run into too many others that we're unable to use OneRoster with.  I can do this to get school started, but manually updating these files every time we need to update our import isn't sustainable.
