Students Review of Schedules

I am curious what other Junior High and High Schools do to give their students access to review their schedules before finalizing.  In EE we could release per grade for students to review and discuss with guidance.  In Academics there isn't a way to set schedules per grade - so I am interested in creative ways schools review per grade.  Our school is too big to do individually with guidance so we need some way for students to login and review - if any problems then they contact their counselor.

  • Would it possibly work to open (or re-open) online course requests?  You can definitely do that by grade, and in Core > Tasks you can remove the "edit" option for students and their parents from course requests while leaving the "view" option.

I don't think that they would be able to see their teachers/periods, if that matters, but they should be able to see their courses.  (If you manually entered them directly into a course, you might want to check to make sure it shows up!  We use online course requests, so this solution would work for us)
  • You can also enable their ability to view course requests without allowing them to change their course requests. It does mean altering the student role in core.
  • We also would like to have the ability to 'turn off' the ability for selected students to see their course schedule. The current work around for us requires mailing schedules via postal mail rather than make them available online. It is not ideal to say the least.
