    Hi all,

    For a read only SQL access to the Raiser Edge and Financial Edge Data we just implemented a great solution using Mission BI services.

    They use API's to provide access to the database through vpn connection to MYSQL Server and it is a life data.

    For the information that is not available through SKI API yet, such as Pledge Installments and Write off we came up with solution by creating and export and using Queue Module to refresh the data.

    Mission BI is using the export and pulling the information to the MY SQL Server so it is available on the server with the rest of the data that comes through AOI's.

    The same solution we implemented with Membership and Volunteer data and it works perfectly.

    Hi Kevin,

    I'm sure we are all on the same page, but just to clarify my previous point, Customers like you have influence on Blackbaud. Partners facilitate gathering customer needs and providing that insight to Blackbaud.

    As for API roadmap, generally speaking (and BB has mentioned this before), BB builds API functionality after that functionality is available in RE NXT Web View. Modules like Membership, Volunteer and Tribute are starting to light up in read-only. I suspect that the API team will wait until the functionality is fully built in Web View before working on the API.

    Hi Denis,

    Complementing missing API endpoints with legacy (DB view exports) is a great idea.

    We have many customers doing the same. Since this is a temporary workaround, we usually suggest sucking up the data files directly into the BI tool (ex Power BI). This reduces the number of hops for the data (more secure), easier to setup, facilitates the maintenance and is really the simplest and most direct route to get that missing data into your BI tool!

    Hi All,

    I am new here and I am developing a web application for the Bruce Trail Conservancy. I have read through this thread and please let me know if I am understanding this correctly.

    Am I right to say that there is currently no support for Raisers Edge Volunteers within the SKY API? If so, this is going to be a major hinderance to our current project and we are going to need to figure out a workaround as the Volunteer portion is integral to the project.
