RENXT - Unable to post application

Our company is currently working with a client to build a sync between their RENXT database and our external system. We have completed all of the necessary steps, however, it looks like we are still running into a bit of a roadblock on accessing the necessary area to post the application. We can see the menu, but do not have visibility on the Application Tool – https://www.screencast.com/t/9JjEVqURQP

After looking further into the documentation, it looks like only primary group admins will have that option. Reference - https://webfiles.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/rex/content/bb-applications.html

I was pointed here by a Blackbaud support rep to see if anyone has any tips or instructions on how to update our access to reveal the applications option from the control panel. Any directions for myself or the client would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi MP Tech Support,

There is a problem right now with the logic for that menu item that results in it only showing up for users who are marked as "Supervisor" in Raiser's Edge.  The user account in your screen shot is an environment admin, but is not a "Supervisor" (so the menu item doesn't show).  So for now, you can directly access the Control Panel -> Applications page using this link:

    https://host.nxt.blackbaud.com/connected-apps/?svcid=renxt&envid=YOURENVIRONMENTID

Make sure you replace ENVIRONMENTID in the above URL with your specific environment ID (it will start with "p-").

Hope this helps - please let us know if you continue to have any problems getting your application connected within an environment.

    Hey Ben,

Truly appreciate the reply! Was able to share this with the team and we are now good to go. Thanks a ton!
