Creating Assignments for multiple classes

Last year I was able to create an assignment and assign it to multiple classes at the same time.  It is allowing me to do this if it isn't set to add to Gradebook, but when it is set to add to Gradebook it won't allow me to Save. 


My gradebook is set up for the "Year" and "Total Points". Is that where the problem lies?  Why the change?

Hi, Cory Zolandz‍! Have you tried adding an assignment to your classes using the "old" design? This can be accessed through the gradebook or switching to calendar view under the Assignments tab. My school's teachers have been able to add assignments to all of their class sections this way. It's a workaround, but at least it gets the job done.

I contacted chat support this, and they also suggest adding assignments through the calendar view as a workaround.


The calendar view was also suggested by chat support as a workaround for an issue with viewing previous years' assignments. When going back to past courses, the Assignment tab isn't currently showing the list view of assignments - but they can be viewed through the calendar or previous gradebooks. Chat support said that both of these issues are being looked at by development.

I believe the issue with not being able to publish to multiple courses/sections is resolved can you let me know if you are still having an issue and have an open case number pass that along? Then I can track it down and figure out what's different about what was fixed versus what's being reported here. Thanks!

This issue is ongoing for us, and here is the case

I actually work at the same school as the original poster, and
she brought it to my attention. From the Assignment tab of her CP
(college placement/standard) course, she can't add an assignment to
the honors section of the same course, or vice versa.

Thank you for looking into this. I remember your sessions
during the summer conference being very helpful!

I just checked this using our English I course and English I Honors course that are taught by the same teacher.


If the assignment is created via the class view, it can only be created for the classes/sections of that course.


If the assignment is created in the assignment center view, it can be created for every section of every course the teacher teaches.

We are still struggling with getting assignments to post for multiple sections of the same course.  It can be done through gradebook, oddly.
