Business Rules not working in NXT!

Hi folks, I'm hoping someone can help me out with a problem I have discovered.  We had a number of business rules set up in RE  that were working just fine with showing the alert message if you accessed an affected record in RE however the message is not then popping up  when opening a record in NXT webview.  Has anyone else found how to resolve this issue? I've just had to manually fix 120 records with an Alert in webview so hoping this is not going to always be the case

The business rules in the database view don't apply to the web view at all.  There's no way to have them carry over either.  Obviously as well, annotations don't appear either, so if you had a lot of these, you'll have to fine a new way to work through this.

Thanks Dariel.  This is a huge headache and I hope that it's something Blackbaud are looking to resolve as it's really not a great situation.

Dariel is right that business rules do not pop up, but you can vote for the idea here: https://renxt.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RENXT-I-141 There are several other options, but this particular idea has 300 votes.

In terms of the annotation, those do show up in NXT, but you may have to have the display annotation automatically checkbox checked off.

Hey Dan, thanks for the tip around annotations. Yeah I had checked the ideas area and voted already on those that mentioned the issue.  Disappointed to see how long this has been flagged as an issue for with no progress being made on it as I really am astounded that something as fundamental as a business rule is not carried over between the two views.

  • This is really disappointing.  I agree, Tracey, this is such an obvious need that it seems pretty hard to believe that Blackbaud hasn't made this available in web view yet.  Especially since they keep trying to drive users to make more and more data updates in web view!  If they want that to happen, these business rules are a must!
