Too many steps to update a grade once the Grade Plan has closed

We posted our 1st quarter report cards last week. Due to hurricanes and COVID, many students had INCs posted as a 1st quarter grade. Now that delayed work has been submitted and graded, the INCs need to be updated. All grades and comments had been marked as Reviewed since they were proofed and corrected. The Review End date for the Grade Plans is past. To update the INC, the grade cannot be marked as Reviewed. So I need to modify the grade plan's Review End date, then uncheck the Reviewed box, then go back into Grades Management to update the grade. This is a crazy amount of steps to accomplish an easy task. I very much appreciate locking down grades to protect their validity; however, one would think a Grading Manager would have the ability to accomplish this task without having to jump through so many hoops.

Am I missing an easier way to do this? I have already filed an idea to fix this: https://blackbaudk12.ideas.aha.io/ideas/K12OC-I-2660

That did the trick - updating via Enter grades by student. Because I am getting batches at a time from teachers, I was using Enter grades by class so I could do them all at once. So my next question is why can it be done in Enter grades by student but not Enter grades by class?

Thank you for your help with this.

    All the best,
