NXT > Graduway Integration

I'm an API newbie here, exploring the feasibility to connect our NXT environment with Graduway. Graduway provides integration that permits data to be pushed from their database to Raiser's Edge, but not the other way around. Their data management options are clunky, so I'd like to setup an API to get the data flowing automatically. Has anyone successfully done this? If not, would anyone be able to mentor/tutor me to point me in the correct direction?

I am looking to see how others integrate RE with Graduway. We are a small charity, so I use Importacular to import the data, after exporting from Graduway. I also do a bit of tidying up before hand. Even with just 1400 Graduway users, it's the actual data quality my main concern,  for example addresses are incomplete, and mapping Graduway industry taxonomy to ours is not straightforward. For example, people select more than one industry out of interest. I would not pay Graduway for the API, extortionate fee for us, and I would not trust the data being synched even with the best of mapping.
