Batch Actions

Hello! I have an excel doc with donor information including their Constituent ID. I want to track an action - the same action for all of these donors.  Is there anyway I can upload a batch of actions to RE using this spreadsheet?  Any help or tips is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Liz,

It looks like there is an idea that's open for voting that sounds like what you want to be able to do: https://renxt.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RE7-I-3670

(Based on the comments, it may be possible using a global add.)

f you can replicate the Excel spreadsheet in a List, Workflow Designer may be able to do what you want (since Workflow Designer works with actions and emails).

If all the actions are the same, you could create a query and globally add records.  If you have Importomatic you could also import them.

You have two options, based on the current state of RE:
    • Import
    • Global add
The global add is probably a little more humane if you aren't used to all of the extra IDs you need to create for an import.

To do the global add, you would first need to create a query from your list of IDs using import or write a new query and copy and paste the IDs into it.  Then use that query in Admin | Global Add to add the same action to everyone's record.

You're lucky to have the ID!  I often receive a list of names without even an address to help identify them!

  • I'd definitely go with Global Add if all of your Actions have the same fields and settings. If, however, each one has a different Type, Solicitor, and Notes, you will probably have to go with Import. I much prefer Global Add.
