Assigned Appeal Attachments (Non-Gift Related)

Is there a way to attach collateral (i.e. letter copies) to Appeals in NXT, even when there's no gifts associated with the Appeal yet?


We are currently working on a multi-phase Thank You project for our volunteers, and I'd like to be able to upload copies of the letter templates to the Appeal record somehow, just to have a consolidated place to see any/all info around that Appeal - like who received it via List, what the letter looked like via Attachment, etc.


I know there isn't a way to do this in database view, but wasn't sure if there was a sneaky section in NXT I was overlooking. I saw this same idea posted to the Idea Bank, but it's an unresolved post from a few years ago.


Just thought it would be cool.

Hi Bobby Steurer‍, I have found this in BB's Knowledgebase, https://webfiles.blackbaud.com/support/helpfiles/rex/content/bb-appeal-record.html , which seems to indicate that an appeal can only be opened (as of now) from a record or a list, which supports my own working knowledge.


However, if you had a dummy record, such as your own Robert Hernandez, in your database, you could create a fake gift to be the first gift with that appeal, and just know to exclude it/him from all your reports, etc. Then once you got your own real first gift, you could delete the fake first gift.
