Raisers Edge Connect?

Hi Everyone,


I was talking to our Director of Development and he mentioned that he heard that there was a way for us to have current student information in Raisers Edge through RE Connect. Could someone let me know more about this? We would love to be able to tell how many students a parent has and their names/information in Raisers Edge. I'm not finding much information on my own just yet...

If you use Blackbaud's K-12 Education Management solution - then yes - you can use a utility named "Connect Raiser's Edge" to integrate records from K-12 to Raiser's Edge. The plug in has its flaws - but it does work.

You have to be thoughtful about how you set it up - and - you have to be careful to make address, email or phone changes in your K-12 product - because K-12 becomes the database of record.
Here is a link to the official Connect RE documentation. We have had quite a few discussions in the K-12 Community about Connect RE. I believe the benefits of using Connect RE outweigh the drawbacks - but it's up to each organization.

I would also search the Community for RE Connect. There have been many discussion about the intricacies of using it. If you are not careful it will corrupt existing RE records.
