Setting up recurring donors

Does anyone know why this recurring gift did not automatically process? Thankfully the donor contacted us to let us know he hasn't seen any transactions on his statement. I set it up as I did the others but not sure why this one does not process?

  • Are you running them in webview or database view?

  • I believe it's run through webview. The only difference I've noticed is that this may not be a credit card. Would that matter?

    Don't know if it affects web view but I think it would. What payment processing do you have for your direct debits? RE definition of direct debit is an automatic withdrawal from a bank account. Do you have the bank account info complete on the record.

    And if memory serves me you should see the box for EFT and it should be checked for direct debits and for credit card types to process. As I don't see that in your screen shot, I'm wondering if you have payment process established for direct debits.

    And no, you can have recurring gifts with various payment methods. Direct debit (bank draft), credit card or even cash.

    I think JoAnn is exactly correct here. The first thing I always do is look for that checkbox after the Pay Method checkbox. If it is missing, you may not even have the ability to process direct debits.

    Do you know what version of RE you are on? The first thing that comes to mind is that you are self-hosted and on an older version of RE. Even if EFT isn't configured, I believe you should at least be able to see that checkbox but not 100% sure.

    If these are being processed in webview, I would look at the gift in webview. It will indicate if it processed and may have some details about why it didn't.
