Alert in Database View

I have a donor who donates on a monthly basis and says that she does not want to receive an acknowledgement letter every month. Is there anyplace in Database view that this can be set up? I know there is an alert in NXT, but it only shows up under Notes in Database view which won't help me when I run my query's for acknowledgement letters.

Hello Cathleen, we use attributes on the constituent in datbase view, we have a communication suppression list of No Mail, No Thank you, Deceased etc. And then you can run query omitting them. Another way is to go the gift and put Do not acknowledge next to it, again you can run the query omitting it.

Hi Cathleen - We track this preference under the Bio2 tab in the “Receipt Type” field. We also have a business rule set up to notify us during gift entry (in DBV) that the donor has requested “consolidated receipts” and should not get a letter; we have a special letter code called “No Letter Sent” that prevents an acknowledgment letter from generating when creating ack letters via Mail.

Typically if we know its a recurring gift we mark as do not receipt/do not acknowledge. Like Austen we also use a business rule that will notify us during gift entry when additional gifts have been received.
