Self-scheduling workflows

We currently use a 3rd party software to handle scheduling applicants for interviews and tours but are interested in utilizing the self-scheduling feature in Enrollment Management. Ideally, the scheduling checklist item would not be active until the applicant submits a transcript and recommendations. I'm also wondering how we may be able to notify the interviewer (principal, counselor, etc) of the interview appointment and place it on their calendar in an efficient manner. Any thoughts and / or best practices are appreciated!

We used the self-scheduling feature this year for candidate interviews and it went pretty well.

In the candidate checklist setup, you can go to the last step you want to show before the interview/visit and select the option to hide all following steps until the ones above are completed.

In terms of notifications, you can customize who gets notified about a scheduled interview/visit and what the message says. If you haven't been there yet, the settings can be found by clicking the gear icon in the top left of the calendar.

The setup also involves adding interview/visit openings to the calendar ahead of time. You'll also want to consider how far in the future you want to display openings for families and how much of a buffer you want (so people don't sign up for an opening the day of/night before, unless you want to allow that).
